Meet Laura

I have been a nurturer for as long as I can remember. As the oldest of three children growing up in the Midwest, caregiving came naturally to me. My journey into family support began at age 11 (which, in hindsight, feels wild!) with date-night babysitting—the first job that sparked my passion for working with children. I later transitioned into summer nannying while attending Butler University (Class of 2007). During that time, I also worked as a camp counselor and spent a year researching, writing, and editing continuing education courses for healthcare professionals—including child psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists—under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.

 

After college, I built my career as an infant and toddler nanny, focusing on families with multiples (twins/triplets), premature babies, special needs, and nanny shares.

 

My Path to Perinatal Care

 

In 2017, I began transitioning into perinatal care by training as a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) with Newborn Care Solutions, followed by Advanced Newborn Care Specialist training in 2018. In 2019, I expanded my expertise by completing training as a Postpartum Doula (CAPPA/NAPS) and a Pediatric Sleep Consultant (Summer’s Sleep Secrets). That same year, I became certified as a Newborn Care Specialist (CACHE) and Postpartum Doula (NAPS) and began training as a Full-Spectrum/Birth Advocacy Doula.

 

How I Support Families

 

As an Advanced Newborn Care Specialist and Certified Postpartum Doula, I support growing families as they transition into parenthood. My goal is to create a safe, positive, and empowering postpartum experience by providing:

    •    Evidence-based information to help parents make informed decisions

    •    Unbiased emotional support to navigate the joys and challenges of new parenthood

    •    Physical support to ensure families feel cared for and confident
